In August, The Dining Divas traveled to Mahone Bay to The Biscuit Eater located at 16 Orchard Street.
Dawn decided on Mrs. Prestigiacomo's sausage and peppers, which was described as "Sautéed sweet sausages with red and green peppers and onions in a simple long simmering tomato sauce." Dawn's was served with rice, and greens to make it gluten free otherwise it came with bread. The flavour wasn't overpowering. Dawn enjoyed the main course and was quite excited that they had gluten free desserts. The French macaron cookies were okay, but they weren't anything special. The lime mousse sounded good and looked good but was too sweet and left a terrible aftertaste.
Deb ordered the Chipotle Chili which was made with pork. It was very flavourful and she enjoyed it. It came with rice which was flavoured with saffron and greens. For dessert, Deb ordered the peanut butter pie. It had chocolate on top and was very rich.
The menu was interesting and changes often. Worth a try, especially if it comes with entertainment. Jont was playing that evening, and The Biscuit Eater is a nice intimate venue.
